For the Rotary Club of Cubao Sunrise, service goes beyond projects—it is a commitment to making a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
With a membership composed largely of educators, the club has embraced a meaningful mission at Childhaus, volunteering their time and expertise to ensure that children undergoing treatment can continue learning despite the challenges they face.
Led by Past President Dai Paingan, President-Elect Ronald Roncales, and Legacy President Wayawaya Subia, the team of teacher-volunteers conducts regular learning sessions focused on strengthening the children’s reading, comprehension, and mathematical skills. Their goal is simple yet powerful: to make sure that illness does not become a barrier to education.
The commitment extends beyond the club’s Rotary members. Members of their Rotary Community Corps (RCC) have also joined the mission, dedicating themselves to continuously teaching, encouraging, and inspiring the children.
Every Sunday, the volunteers give four hours of their time, a commitment they have sustained since last year. Week after week, they bring not only books and learning materials, but also patience, encouragement, laughter, and hope.
At Childhaus, every lesson becomes an opportunity to remind a child that their dreams remain within reach.
The event highlighted how education, physical and emotional well-being go hand in hand, thus, giving young patients a sense of normalcy and hope amid challenging circumstances.
Through education and compassion, the Rotary Club of Cubao Sunrise continues to Create Lasting Impact—one lesson, one child, and one Sunday at a time.
